A second man has been charged in connection with an August fire that burned most of a West Jordan McDonald's restaurant under con-struc-tion.
Mark Klein, 19, Heber City, Wasatch County, was charged in 3rd District Court Friday with arson and possession of explosive devise, both second-degree felonies, in the Aug. 16 fire that burned 80 percent of the building at 1265 W. 9000 South. The fire caused more than $400,000 worth of damage, the charges say.Police arrested two 19-year-old men and a 17-year-old juvenile in November for investigation of arson.
The suspect admitted during an interview with a West Jordan police officer to pouring gas inside the business, the charges say. He also admitted to being present when the fire was started.
Last month Jason Derek Troff, 19, was charged in 3rd District Court with first and second-degree felony charges of arson and use of an explosive device in connection with the fire.
Klein is being held at the Salt Lake County Jail on $15,000 bail.
