Did fight lead to stabbing of a man in downtown S.L.?

A 35-year-old man was stabbed outside the Ute Cab office in downtown Salt Lake City early Tuesday.

Another man found Rafael Venezuala standing in the doorway of the Ute Cab office, 468 W. 200 South, about 4:30 a.m., a Salt Lake police report said. He helped him to the nearby homeless shelter, where they called police. When police arrived, they found Venezuala sitting in the lobby of the shelter with a towel over his stomach, the report said. He was stabbed once in the lower right abdomen by a man police are still looking for, the report said.

Venezuala was taken to LDS Hospital in serious condition. No arrests have been made, and police had no witnesses to the fight, which apparently led to the stabbing.
