W.V. man faces charge of attempted murder

A West Valley has been charged with attempted murder, a second-degree felony, in connection to a Sept. 10 shooting.

Prosecutors accuse the man, 22, of trying to kill Conception Soto-Chavez on a West Valley street, 4061 S. 1535 West. He is accused of firing two shots from a handgun but missed, according to the charges filed in 3rd District Court Thursday.The documents didn't indicate what the man's motives were. He was already on probation for a aggravated assault conviction, according to the charges.

He will also face a second-degree felony charge of possession of a dangerous weapon in court.
