Death: Robert Addison Richey

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Robert Addison Richey, age 92, passed away October 10, 1997, in Salt Lake City.

Addison was born July 14, 1905, in St. Johns Arizona, the son of John Benjamin and Eliza Jane Prather Richey. Married Evelyn Phillips, Mildred Maier both deceased. Addison was a prominent vocalist of opera, concert, screen and radio. His comforting music at numerous funerals will always be remembered. He was a member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Until the time of his death he piloted his own aircraft, and was the oldest pilot in the state of Utah. He was an outstanding insurance agent for New York Life Insurance. He also was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a High Priest of the Salt Lake East Millcreek 2nd Ward. Addison's passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives.Survivors include two sons and four daughters, Robert Addison (Doreen) Richey Jr., Indio, California; John Benjamin (Charolette) Richey, Centerville, Utah; Shirley (Ervin) Johnsen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Annette (Elwood) Bush, Indio, California; Nadine Lee, Washington; Eleanor (Larry) Edwards, Virgina; step-daughter, Marsha (Paul) Peterson, Salt Lake City, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; two brothers and one sister, O. Porter (Florence) Richey, Mesa, Arizona; Hester (Winslow) Hurst, Ogden, Utah; Stanley Richey, St. Johns, Arizona. Preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 1997, 12 noon, at the Holbrook Mortuary 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT, where friends may call from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment: Mesa City Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
