Death: Donna Humpherys Carr

Donna Humpherys Carr, 72, passed away October 10, 1997 after a battle with a brain tumor.

She was born October 9, 1925 in Freedom, Star Valley, Wyoming to Willard and Rhoda Humpherys. She married Duane S. Carr, Sr. on December 24, 1943 and they were later sealed on December 28, 1992 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She taught English as a second language at the University of Utah and worked with the Peace Corps. She later earned a Ph.D. in Psychology and along with a private practice, she worked at the State Board of Education. She was a wonderful teacher, at home, in her career, and at church. She loved teaching. But of all her accomplishments, her greatest is her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.She was a devoted and beloved wife who loved and cared for her husband, who preceded her in death in October 1993. She was a loving, giving mother and grandmother. She was also preceded in death by one sister, two infant children and one son, Daran, in October 1973.

She is survived by three children, Dee Carr (Judy), DonnaLee Larsen (Tom), Deor Jorgensen (Neil); daughter-in-law, Carolyn Smart (Wayne); three brothers, three sisters; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at 12 noon at the Eagle Gate Stake Center, 135 N. "A" Street. Family and friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Tuesday at the ward from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
