Death: Maxine House Murphy ""G.G.""

I was born Maxine House on August 15, 1911, in Salida, Colorado, a daughter of Gertrude Agnes Smith and William McGann House. I passed away on October 11, 1997, at my daughter's home in West Valley City, Utah.

I married William Thomas Murphy on June 30, 1936, in Helper, Utah. Bill passed away on May 11, 1992. I was a member of the United Methodist Church in Price.I've had a long and full life. I was a nurse in surgery and O.B. at the Carbon Hospital for many years. Some of my special memories are of the Jobs Daughters. I was Bethel #3 Guardian for many years and Grand Guardian of the State of Utah in 1966-1967. My daughter Colleen, granddaughter Debbie and great-granddaughter Nicole are all past Jobbies. I am so proud of all of them.

I am survived by my son, Dr. Norman and Gayle Murphy of Merritt Island, Florida; daughter, Colleen "Wacky" Peterson of West Valley City; grandson, Scott Fausett of West Valley City; granddaughter, Debbie Hodgson and husband Dennis of Kearns; three special great-granddaughters, Nicole, Carrie and Stevie Tattersall, all of Kearns; my cousins, Jack and Athena Vignetto of Price; and a very special young man who came to see me twice over a year ago, Steven Larson of San Jose, California.

At my request, there will be only graveside services at Mountain View Cemetery on Tuesday, October 14, 1997, at 11 a.m. in Helper, Utah. Family and friends will meet at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price on Tuesday, one hour prior to graveside services. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 356 North Virginia Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.

There are so many people I would love to thank for helping take care of me. Thank you, Norman and Gayle, for the daily mail and phone calls. Thank you, Colleen, for each and everything you did for me. Thank you, Debbie, Dennis and Scott, for you were all so very kind and patient with me. Thank you my special great-granddaughters for your love and just being who you are. Thanks to Earl James who did so much for me all through the years and his wife Yvonne. Also thanks to all my wonderful neighbors who helped me whenever I needed a friend, Bill and Barbara, Alene, Rose, Flo, Roselee, Robert and Edith. Also thanks to Charlotte Wallace from Columbia Home Health, who without I would not have had such wonderful care and love and who is so very special to me. Also, Rose Tidwell of Price Home Health, she was also wonderful to me. Thanks to Dr. Bonnie Lee.

"G.G." and Mom, you will leave hearts that are broken, and you were always so special to all of us. You are the wind beneath OUR wings.
