Death: Norma Butcher

Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Great Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend; Norma Emma Christensen Butcher.

Born to Oliver Christensen and Anna Merinda Gull whom she loved and respected on May 8, 1905 in Leland, Utah. Left her earthly existence on October 15, 1997. She married Theodore Charles Butcher on June 14, 1927 who passed away November 1985.Norma Emma was a sweet example of love, care and giving to all. She lived a simple life without the want of material things.

She had a great love and testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and taught her children to love and pray to the Lord. One of the high lights and thrills of her young girl life was the time she sang in the choir for an LDS General Conference meeting at the tabernacle.

She is the sole survivor of eight brother and sisters. She had a special relationship with them.

She was the mother of seven children, all of them still living, Norma Lou Moffat, husband Murray; Beulah Beth Jensen, husband Charles Lynn; Thelma McWhorter, Barbara Ann Reeves, husband Arthur, Theodore Oliver, wife Kathy; Robert Brent, wife Paula; and Sally Mickelsen.

She has 38 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.

She never spoke an unkind word about anyone. She will be remembered for her patience, love, honesty, caring and sweet nature.

We will miss her sweet and gentle hand in all of our lives that she touched.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
