Death: Maxwell Lindsay Benson

Maxwell Lindsay Benson, our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away October 14, 1997 at the age of 83 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born September 25, 1914 in Moreland, Idaho, the son of Edward Daniel and Maud Lindsay Benson. He married FlorenceIsabel Jensen on September 25, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He attended schools in Moreland and graduated from Brigham Young University. His home was in Rexburg, Idaho until he retired.

An example of quiet integrity and hard work, his greatest source of joy was spending time with his family. An active high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held various church positions, including financial clerk at the time of his death. As a member of the Kiwanis Club, he rendered many hours of community service. During his life, he held a member of accounting and administrative positions. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired from Ricks College in 1981. Continuing to work in his profession was his retirement hobby. He enjoyed th association of colleagues at Fankhauser and Associates until his death.

He is survived by children, Karen Fankhauser , Salt Lake City; M. Farrell (Karla), Kaysville; Jack P. (Tudy), Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Boyce and Donald; sister, Julia Parker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 12 noon at the LDS Rock Chapel, 25 So. 200 East, Kaysville. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main and one hour prior to services at the chapel on Saturday. Interment at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City.
