At Houston, Steve Nash scored 25 of his 35 points in the first half as the Suns beat the Rockets. Nash, a second-year guard from Santa Clara, made 13 of 19 shots from the field as the Suns handed the Rockets their first exhibition loss after two victories.

At Rapid City, S.D., Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 21 points and 15 rebounds as Vancouver beat Dallas. Abdur-Rahim was 8-of-14 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line. Rookie Antonio Daniels added 13 points for Vancouver. Shawn Bradley had 17 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks for Dallas.
