Gasp! Malone falls, but wrist OK

Midway through Thursday morning's practice at Westminster College, it happened. Utah Jazz forward Karl Malone - whose dream teammate, John Stockton, is already out for two to three months - fell, landing on his right wrist. It hurt. He was taken to the hospital for X-rays.

But Malone - and Jazz fans everywhere - received good news. The Mailman's X-ray came back negative. He was diagnosed with a sprained right wrist, but the injury is not serious. He made the Thursday afternoon flight to Indianapolis with his teammates and is expected to play - albeit limited minutes - tonight in an exhibition game against the Indiana Pacers.Forward Chris Morris will not play, however. Morris, who has been bothered by a sore hamstring, did not make Thursday's charter flight with the Jazz.
