Kids can celebrate pioneers at LDS museum activity day

Children will have one last chance to celebrate the Pioneer Sesquicentennial, Saturday, Oct. 18 at the LDS Church's Museum of Church History and Art.

A hands-on activity day is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, 45 N. West Temple Street. Reservations are not required for the free activities, designed for children ages 5-11.There will be a puppet show and pioneer storytellers. Children can also create various pioneer-themed items: a beehive greeting card, a wagon-train mobile, a pair of ox-yoke eyeglasses, a paper bonnet, a top hat and food used by the pioneers as they crossed the plains.

The activities will be ongoing throughout the day.
