Death: Donald Raymond Busey

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Donald Busey, age 76, left this life on October 16, 1997 due to cancer.

He was born June 6, 1921, in Tribbey, Oklahoma, to Claude Franklin and Minnie Carrie Liebman Busey. He graduated from Hominy High School in Hominy, Oklahoma, where he is still remembered by many former classmates as one of their star football players and as a talented artist.He served in the US Air Force during World War II and was a sergeant at the time of his discharge. He married Audrey Jeanne Bunch and they were later divorced. This marriage produced three children. He married Georgia Reed in 1956, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Don was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since his baptism in 1969.

Don retired from Colonial Pipeline Company in 1986 after working in the Virginia Beach, VA. area for 22 years and in Wyoming for several years. Upon retiring, he and his family moved to Kaysville, Utah.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia, Kaysville; two daughters, Melanie (Jim) Doody, Grand Junction, C0; Vicki Nielsen, Hermitage, TN; four sons, Danny Busey, Delta, CO; Brent Busey (Kathy), Bowling Green, KY; Kevin Busey (Kris), Kaysville, UT, and Reed Busey (Sharon), Sunset, UT. Also surviving are one brother, Walter Norman Busey, Wylie, TX; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville LDS Rock Chapel, 25 So. 200 E. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main and at the church on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
