Death: William Hector McDonald Wood

William Hector McDonald Wood, died October 13, 1997 of cardiac arrest in Yucaipa, CA.

Born May 27, 1903 in Leitholm, Scotland, he married Lily Fairweather, November 7, 1927 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She preceded him in death, March 16, 1995. They had been married 68 years. The Woods lived in Johannesburg, South Africa for 17 year before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah. An artistic metal worker, he was employed by Toledo Metal Arts and Artistic Lighting Studio, where he designed and crafted several ornamental facades still visible on many downtown buildings. He had lived in Yucaipa the last 10 years of his life.He is survived by two sons, William Wood of Yucaipa and Eric Wood of Walnut, CA.; and two daughters: Mrs. Hendrik (Julia) van Rensburg, now of St. George, UT; and Mrs. Ross (Norma) Clay, now of Springdale, UT.

Memorial services were held in San Bernardino, CA., on October 16, 1997.
