Death: Earl D. Willardson

Earl D. Willardson, 80, of Gunnison, Utah, died October 16, 1997 in the Gunnison Valley Hospital.

He was born September 26, 1917 in Centerfield, Utah to Marlin Earl and Lurain Pickett Willardson. He married Maysie Anderson, January 28, 1939 in Redmond, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June 30, 1962. Maysie died August 23, 1996.Earl was very active in his community of Gunnison helping found the Fire Department, retiring after 32 years. He also served on the City Council, 15 years; Jaycees, Lions Club, member of the LDS Church and active in church callings.

He is survived by his son, Frank (Sharon) Willardson of West Valley City; Shirley Thompson of Gunnison; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Melba Lyman of Orem; brothers, Dee (Loreen) Willardson of Gunnison; Oran (Erda) Willardson of Tooele; Kerry (Louise) Willardson of Orangeville, UT; Allen (Reta) Willardson of Gunnison. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maysie; daughter, Connie; parents; one sister, Vonda.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 1997 at 12 noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center. Friends may call at the Stake Center Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:30-11:30 prior to services. Interment in the Redmond City Cemetery under the direction of the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home.
