Camille Cosby pledges $20,000 for Indian land

Bill Cosby's wife, Camille, has pledged $20,000 to help buy and preserve a tract of land that is an ancient Indian burial ground, a group of conservationists says.

"It was really a prayer answered," said Jani Leverett, president of the Friends of the Mohawk Trail.Conservationists and Indians have been trying to preserve the 65-acre property less than two miles from the business center of Greenfield, Mass.

Though the site was looted by treasure seekers, they say it still holds other artifacts. It is listed on the national and state historic registers.
