Death: George Raymond Hadfield

George Raymond Hadfield, age 79, passed away at the McKay Dee Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997.

He was born Mar. 9, 1918 in Ogden, Utah, the son of George Wells and Sylvia Abigail Beecher Hadfield. He grew up in Clearfield and graduated from Davis High School. He fulfilled a mission for the LDS Church to California. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He married Sylvia Arlene Taylor, Mar. 12, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked for Smith Canning Company and Clover Club Foods. He had a beautiful singing voice and sung in the Arizona Symphonic Choir and sang solos for many occasions. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he held many positions, including bishop. He enjoyed family gatherings with his children and grandchildren.Raymond is survived by his wife, Kaysville; son, Kevin Lyal (Jeanette) Hadfield, Harrisville; a daughter, Holly Hadfield, Layton; four grandchildren, Brandon, Michelle, Stephanie and Tara. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Delbert Hadfield, Kaysville; Alyce Bai, Salt Lake City; Jennie Harris, Riverdale; Norma (Elmer) Mumford, Kaysville. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville Fairfield LDS Chapel, 555 N. 100 E. Friends may call at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, Friday from 6-8 p.m. and from 12:45-1:45 at the chapel prior to services. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
