A man wielding a gun and a knife tied up three people and fired a shot near them Monday during a robbery at an employment services office.
A man entered Interim Personnel, 388 E. 1300 South, about 10 a.m.He used plastic zip ties to bind two women and one man.
He fired a shot in their direction as they lay on the floor, said Orem Police Lt. Steve Clark.
None of the three was hit. The bullet struck the floor.
An ambulance was called to the scene to examine scrapes on the victims' wrists.
Clark said the robber stole two checks but no cash.
