Death: Persisy Farr Heiner Candland

Persis Farr Hiener Candland, 92, passed away quietly October 18, 1977 after a long illness from causes incident to age. She was a beloved wife and good friend to all who knew her.

Persis was born in Logan, Utah on April 8, 1905 to Charles and Persis Farr Hiener. The family lived in Morgan, Utah, where she attended the local schools. Later, the family moved to Salt Lake City where she attended Salt Lake Business College. She was employed by Mountain Telephone Company for 43 years.On January 10, 1981 she married Kenneth E. Candland in the Salt Lake Temple.

She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many stake and ward positions. She loved her many years of services as a visiting teacher in the Relief Society. She, also served as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.

She is survived by her husband; step-daughters, Kenetta C. Barton (Robert), Darlene Wasden. Preceded in death by Toinette C. Campbell (Keith); nieces and nephews, June Griffith, Janet Stetfane, Christine Barckie, Kathleen Menke, Donald Hiener, David Kennell; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Grandma Persis we shall miss you.

Funeral services will be held Thursday October 23, 1997, at 11 a.m., Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Sandy, Utah, where friends may call prior to the services 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment in Memorial Estates.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Highland Cove Retirement Center for their kindness and good care of Persis.
