Land auction adds $830,600 to fund

The permanent fund for Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration got $830,600 richer after an auction in which 2,160 parcels of trust land property sold for an average $383 per acre.

The parcels included four 10-acre lots near the top of Monroe Mountain in Fishlake National Forest, 40 acres south of Torrey, Wayne County, at the base of Boulder Mountain and 200 acres on the east boundary of Zion National Park.The permanent funds are not spent but are invested by the State Treasurer to provide perpetual payments to the beneficiaries.

The trust lands administration will conduct another land auction of approximately 3,200 acres on March 6. Call 538-5100 for information about the sale.
