Task force arrests 2 and seizes 4.3 pounds of meth

The Utah County Major Crimes Task Force arrested two people and seized methamphetamine in two separate operations last week.

The task force used a search warrant to confiscate 4.3 pounds of the drug from a home in Salt Lake County Wednesday, said Orem Police Lt. Steve Clark. Salt Lake police arrested a 44-year-old woman whom Clark said recently moved from Utah County."We're quite confident it was all destined to come down here," he said.

The task force also used an undercover officer to buy a pound of methamphetamine valued at $45,000 from two men Thursday night near Orem's Sharon Elementary School. Police arrested one suspect, the other one fled. Clark said officers know where the man lives and have O warrant for his arrest.

a Also Thursday, task force undercover officers arrested two men near the Storehouse Market, 44 E. 800 North, Orem, for arranging to distribute methamphetamine in a drug-free zone and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, Clark said.

The men, ages 30 and 36, also had two ounces of cocaine in their possession.
