Propeller honored as fastest growing company in Utah

Propeller Inc. has been the fastest growing company in Utah for the past five years with a whopping 14,383 percent increase in sales. Company officials accepted a certificate from the MountainWest Venture Group Tuesday during the announcement of its third annual Utah 100 list.

Despite its name, the six-year-old Orem-based information technology company has nothing to do with airplanes. It offers clients computer technology, repair service, custom configurations and "hot spare" programs.First Security Corp. led the list of the top 25 largest revenue growth companies in Utah.

J. Scott Nixon, a partner with Coopers and Lybrand, the program's principal sponsor, said this year's list of 100 companies averaged 407 percent in growth over the last five years, the main criterion for making the list.
