Death: R.D. ""Dale"" Patterson

Royce Dale Patterson, 67, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, Oct 18, 1997.

He was born May 31, 1930 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Royce Henry and Erma Hathaway Patterson. Married Ona Bartlett on August 19, 1950; later divorced. Dale was a demolition expert throughout most of his adult life. He loved to write poetry and to travel by car and in his home built bus. He was an avid story teller with a special gift of wit and charm. All who knew him enjoyed his ribald sense of humor. He often held out an unselfish hand to the less fortunate. He enjoyed collecting antique demolition equipment and had a sizable collection at the time of his death. He will be missed by all those who loved him.Survivors include three sons: Stan, Apopka, Florida; Val, Salt Lake City; Don, Murray; a daughter, Tracy Leggroan, Salt Lake City, five grandchildren; and two sisters, Ann Holfeltz and Dorothy Sanchez. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Bunny.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct 25 at 12 noon at the Cannon Eighth Ward Chapel, 1172 South Glendale Drive (1300 West). Friends may call at Cottonwood Funeral Home, 4670 South Highland Drive from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday evening and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment at the Holladay Memorial Estates on Arbor Lane in Holladay.
