W.V. 4-year-old hurt when car runs over her

A 4-year-old was injured after being run over by a car in the driveway of her house Wednesday afternoon.

Lisa Johnson told police she left her daughter, Morgan, in her car parked in the driveway of her house, 5587 W. Hunter Drive (3300 South), while she went in the house, said West Valley police Sgt. Randy Pond.Somehow, Morgan either climbed out of the car or fell out while the car rolled back out of the driveway. Nobody witnessed the incident, and it is unknown how the car began to move, Pond said.

A front wheel of the car ran over the child, causing abdominal injuries and a broken thigh bone, Pond said.

Paramedics responded to the scene at 4:55 p.m. Morgan was airlifted to Primary Children's Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
