Death: Frieda Schmidt Taylor Gunther

Frieda Schmidt Taylor Gunther, 81, died Oct. 22, 1997 at her home in Brigham City.

She was born January 6, 1916 in Granger, Utah, the daughter of Andrew and Nellie May Bangerter Schmidt. She married Lawrence C. Taylor on Nov. 25, 1938 in the Salt Lake City Temple. He died Dec. 30, 1981. She married Lloyd F. Gunther on July 30, 1985 in Farr West, Utah.She had lived most of her life in Farr West, spending the last twelve years in Brigham City. She had worked as a seamstress. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving as Relief Society president, Primary president, chorister and organist, and numerous other callings.

She is survived by her husband of Brigham City; eight children: Carol (Juan) Spillett, Rockland, ID; Bonnie (Kay) Pierce, Kihei, HI; Ileen (Max) Robinette, Brigham City; Sheldon W. Taylor (Suzanne), Farr West; Janice (Brent) Foster, Gilbert, AZ; Therin (Roelene) Taylor, Farr West; Kevin (Carolyn) Taylor, Farr West; and Lynita (Greg) Price, Farr West; 74 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; six step-children: Larry (Marie) Gunther, Naperville, IL; Metta Marie (Dennis) Fife, Brigham City; David (Margo) Gunther, American Fork; Val (Jo Ellen) Gunther, Brigham City; Jared Gunther, Brigham City; and Jay (Vicki) Gunther, Redlands, CA. She is also survived by four brothers, Ed Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Bob Schmidt and Joe Schmidt; six sisters: Jessie Taylor, Rosalyn Furlow, Louise Leary, Etha Brock, Lillian Redford, and Elsie Rigby.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25th, 2 p.m. at the Farr West LDS Chapel, 1800 No. 1800 W., Farr West, Utah, with Bishop Gene Stephens conducting. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12 noon to 1:40 p.m. Interment will be in the Plain City Cemetery.
