Death: Jennie Belle Poole Bockholt

Jennie Belle Poole Bockholt, 98, our loving mother and grandmother, passed away October 22, 1997.

Born December 12, 1898 in Spartanburg, So. Carolina, to John Simpson and Mary Elizabeth Mathis Poole. She married Joseph M. Bockholt in 1935; he preceded her in death. Jennie was a devoted member of the LDS Church. She moved West to be with other members of her faith. After living a few years in Whitney, Idaho, they moved back to South Carolina; then in 1909 settled in Blanding, Utah, where she cared for her mother until her mother's death in 1976. Jennie moved to Salt Lake in 1977 to be near her only daughter, Mary Jane; her six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her two sisters. Jennie's love for music came at an early age. She took that love and later in life became an accomplished vocalist and she loved entertaining others. We were all blessed she was with us almost 99 years.Survivors: daughter, Mary Jane Madigan; sister, Sarah Lovelle Nourse; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, John M. Poole, sisters, Anna Butt and Clarice Poole and an infant son.

Funeral services Saturday, October 25, 1997 at 3 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Blanding Cemetery, Blanding, Utah on Monday, October 27, 1997 at 2 p.m.
