Werner Schruhl, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away October 24, 1997 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born March 1, 1914 in Kiel, Germany. Served his country of Germany as a Naval Officer. Married Ruth Elsbeth Schwan, October 7, 1939. Immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1952. He was very active in the LDS Church serving as branch president in Flensburg, Germany and held various other callings in Salt Lake. Worked for the City of Salt Lake as a Water Treatment Plan Operator, which he loved. Was director of the Harmony Chorus for 25 years. Family, friends, music, traveling and good food were his life. His zest for life was contagious to all who knew him. His passing will leave a large void to all he left behind.Survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Rolf Schruhl; Ingrid (John) Dame; Dagmar McGraw; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Hertha Rolvers of the Netherlands.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, october 28, 1997 at the Union Fort 4th Ward Chapel, 6710 So. 1300 East. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and at the ward on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
