While most workers are at least somewhat satisfied with their work, a new poll shows they also don't expect to keep the jobs.
Fifty-three percent of American workers expect they will leave their job voluntarily within the next five years, according to a national poll. Another 17 percent consider it likely they will be fired or laid off, said the poll made available for release Monday by Louis Harris and Associates. While three-quarters deem their jobs interesting, half give their pay and retirement benefits negative ratings. Part-time workers are even more likely to be negative.
Overall, 54 percent are very satisfied, and an additional 36 percent are somewhat satisfied with their jobs.
