Auditions scheduled for 3 productions

Auditions have been scheduled for the following productions:

- ELVIS IN VIVA SALT LAKE: EAT MY RUST! on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Desert Star Playhouse, 4861 S. State, being directed by Beth Bruner.There are roles for four men and three women. All auditioners must be at least 18 years of age. Come prepared with a song of your own choice (an accompanist will be provided). There will also be cold readings from the script. A dance combination may also be taught (dress appropriately for movement). Please bring a current resume and photograph, if possible. Performers will also sing and dance in the "Give My Regards to Broadway" olio revue.

DSP's 1998 season opener, the musical melodrama will play Jan. 8-Feb. 28 at the theater, 4861 S. State, Murray.

- FOREVER PLAID, the popular off-Broadway revue, on Friday, Oct. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. until noon, at Provo Theatre Company, 105 E. 100 North, Provo.

There are roles for four young men, all requiring singing and comic acting talent. Come prepared with a two-minute contemporary monologue and two contemporary 16-bar songs (one uptempo and one ballad). Bring your own music. An accompanist and cassette tape player will be provided.

Tim Threllfall is directing the production.

All positions will be paid. Actors must be available for rehearsals during November and the entire run of the show (Jan. 19-March 2). For further information, call 423-1952 (daytime) or 379-0600 (evenings).

- SOUTH PACIFIC, the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse, 99 E. 4700 South, Ogden.

All roles are open, and actors of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Needed are singers, dancers and actors to portray sailors, Marines, Sea Bees, nurses, etc. Come prepared with a short vocal solo. An accompanist will be provided.

The production will play Dec. 26-Feb. 9, with a special performance on New year's Eve and one matinee on Jan. 17 at 3:30 p.m. Call 393-0070 for further information.
