Harvard professor to speak at BYU religious conference

The chairman of the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies in the Center for International Affairs will be the keynote speaker at a conference on religious liberty and cultural values in the Brigham Young University Conference Center Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 5-7.

Samuel P. Huntington, who will speak on Monday at 1 p.m., will be one of many scholars and international leaders participating in the J. Reuben Clark Law School's annual religious conference.Huntington will speak on "Religious Liberty and Religion's Resurgence." The Albert J. Weatherhead III University Professor at Harvard, he is also the director of the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies.

Other sessions will focus on topics ranging from cultural adaptation to religious and civil liberty. Most sessions are open to the public. For more information or a conference schedule, call Emily Lauritzen at 378-2281.
