Death: Betty W. Marler

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Betty W. Marler, age 68, passed away, surrounded by family, October 1, 1997, in Park City, due to complications of cancer.

Betty was born January 9, 1929 in Ruppertsburg, Germany, the daughter of George and Wilhelmina Beilher Willa. She married Billy R. Marler, on September 17, 1952 in Ruppertsburg, Germany, where Billy was stationed in the military. When Billy first saw her photo in a shop window he told his friend that he was going to find her and marry her. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on September 17th.She will be sadly missed by Billy, her daughters, Mona and Tina and son, Mike. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, who called her "Oma". She is survived by her sisters and family in Germany.

Betty loved her work at the Delta Center and had many friends there who showed love and support throughout her illness. She never missed a Jazz game. Betty embraced life, loved her family, many friends. She had a great heart and a lot of spunk. We will miss her smile, her hugs and daily phone calls.

Memorial services will be Friday, October 3, 1997, 4 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT, where friends may call for one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
