5-week Illinois standoff ends with woman's capture

A five-week standoff between police and a woman sought for a mental exam ended in her capture when she stepped outside and was shot with rubber bullets.

Shirley Ann Allen, 51, had ventured onto her porch in Roby, 20 miles from Springfield, three times Thursday to throw back food packages pushed into her home by authorities. The final time, a trooper saw something shiny in her hands and shot, hitting her twice. Family members said Allen appeared thinner but was unhurt. She spent nearly an hour talking with relatives and officers.

Finally, the ordeal dubbed "Roby Ridge" was over.
