Auditions have been scheduled for the following local stage productions:
- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. until noon in the Trophy Room of Salt Lake Community College's South City campus, 1575 S. State (directly across the hallway from the Grand Theatre).All roles, including Joseph, are open.
The musical will be directed and choreographed by Marilyn Mae Montgomery. Singers, dancers and actors 16 years of age or older are required. Those interested should come prepared to sing a selection of their own choice (an accompanist will be provided) and review dance steps.
"Joseph" will play Jan. 23-Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. nightly except Sundays, with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
- Big River on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Rodgers Memorial Theatre rehearsal hall, 292 E. Pages Lane, Centerville. Auditioners should come prepared to sing 16 bars of any song. An accompanist will be provided (tape-recorded accompaniment will not be allowed).
All roles are open and all parts will be double-cast.
The musical, based on "Huckleberry Finn," calls for several black singers/actors in leading roles, as well as many young men in the 16-22 age range.
Dennis Ferrin will direct, with choreography by Kim Madsen. Play dates are Jan. 15-Feb. 28.
