Orem plans several events for its Fire Prevention Week

The Orem Fire Department will celebrate Fire Prevention Week Oct. 5-11, with week-long events and activities. Many of the events will be held at Fire Station No. 3, 255 N. 1200 West, or at R.C. Willey's parking lot, 40 E. University Parkway.

Activities include:- A home safety display, Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- An open house at Fire Station No. 3, Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is welcome.

- Fire engines, rescue rigs, ambulances and all types of fire equipment will be on display in R.C. Willey's parking lot, 40 E. University Parkway, Tuesday, beginning at 5 p.m. The public is invited to come and see the equipment, talk to firefighters, and kids can meet Sparky the fire dog.

- A live firefighting demonstration will take place in the same R.C. Willey parking lot Thursday from 7:30 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to watch fire crews demonstrate firefighting skills. Sparky the fire dog will also be on hand.
