Ludmila (Ludy) Haley, age 78, passed away in Sandy, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to Peter and Paulina Shibleff in China, Jan. 9, 1919. She married Gregory Kasharoff in 1938 in China and had a daughter, Helen. He later passed away. She then married John Bidleman. They later divorced. Ludmila immigrated to the U.S. in 1949 from China. She lived in San Francisco for 33 years where she worked for the Continental Bakery for 26 years. She married John Haley, later divorced. Ludmila moved to Sandy to spend her remaining days with her family.She is survived by her daughter, Helen (Alex) Chlopitsky; grandchildren, Tina Houston, Seattle, WA; Marie Landers, Carnegie, OK; Tony Chlopitsky, Salt Lake City, Ut; Catherine Lester, Taylorsville, UT; and Mis Chlopitsky, Sandy, UT. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Vera and Val.
Her family will remember her strength and independence. She was loving and caring to all.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 300 S. 300 W. at 11 a.m. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Deseret Memorial Mortuary, 36 E. 700 S. with a Trisagion (prayer service) at
7 p.m. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
