Dozens of locales holding primary elections today

Dozens of cities and towns across the state were holding primary elections Tuesday.

The polls are open until 8 p.m.Bountiful City will not have a primary election after all. Several weeks ago Ann Wilcox Hardy withdrew from the at-large council race leaving only two candidates. That was the only race in the city with two or more candidates, so there is no need for a primary election now.

Elsewhere, the top two vote-getters Tuesday (the top four in primaries where two at-large council seats are elected together) face each other in the Nov. 4 general election.

Salt Lake City and Ogden don't have mayoral races this year but there are several city council primaries in both cities.

Draper, Murray, West Jordan, South Jordan, Provo, Orem, American Fork, Heber, Tooele and Kaysville all have mayoral primaries today.

For voting information, call your local city or town recorder.
