Death: Iva Z. Truscott

Iva Z. Truscott, 97, oldest resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Oct. 6, 1997 at her home.

She was born Sept 22, 1900 in Mt. Pleasant to Isaac and Eliza Wise Zabriskie. She married Charles Leonard Truscott, Oct 2, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant, their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, Feb 22, 1954. He passed away Jan 18, 1959.Iva was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary for 38 years, including: being the first Primary president of the Mt. Pleasant 4th Ward Primary. She was the Grand Marshall of the July 4, 1997 Parade in Mt. Pleasant. Iva retired from Osborne Apparel Co., where she worked for many years.

Iva is survived by three sons: Clair (LaVon) Truscott, of Plain City, UT; Kenneth D. (Adele) Truscott, of St. George, UT; Clark N. Truscott, of Mt. Pleasant, UT; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mada Lund and Eva Christensen, one brother, John Zabriskie.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 10, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant 6th Ward Chapel, 49 South State Street. Friends and family may call at the Ursenbach Funeral Home, Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday Oct. 10, from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
