Death: Mary Beveridge

Mary Catherine Beveridge, age 92, passed away on October 1, 1997, in Mammoth Lakes, CA., of natural causes.

Mary was born June 1, 1905 in Castle Gate, Utah, daughter of the late Celeste and Giovanna Dalpiaz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Beveridge. Mary was a resident of Carbon County and the town of Helper for 90 years, until her move to live in California in December of 1995.Mary attended grammar school in Helper, graduated high school from St. Mary's of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City, and then earned a degree in teaching from the University of Utah. She taught school in Helper for a number of years. A member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Altar Society, she became a charter member and founder of the Sorella D'America Italian Lodge in 1934. During her 63 years as a member, she held every office of the organization, including president.

Survived by: two sons and their spouses, James Beveridge, Springville, Utah; Thomas Beveridge, Mammoth Lakes, CA.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Colzani, Los Banos, CA.; Anne Mastrangelo, Los Banos, CA.

Funeral Mass Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, 10 a.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church, 5 So. Main, Helper. Vigil service Friday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 E. Main, Price, Where friends are welcome daily from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Committal service Mt. View Cemetery, Helper, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 5 So. Main, Helper, Utah.
