The 3 to 5 inches of snow near Brighton Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon may be whetting the enthusiasm of Utah skiers, as Wednesday morning temperatures dipped below 40 in northern Utah valleys. The snowy conditions and the weekend's forecast for additional snow and rain may likely signal a continuation of the state's wet cycle. The water year ended Sept. 30.
