Collision with a UTA bus injures Taylorsville woman

A woman was seriously injured Monday when her car was struck by a UTA bus.

Alesha Garrison, 18, Taylorsville, was turning left onto 3800 South from Redwood Road when the bus collided with her car. The bus was traveling south "at a pretty moderate rate of speed," said West Valley Police Sgt. Randy Pond.Paramedics took Garrison to LDS Hospital by helicopter. She was in serious condition Tuesday. It was unclear whether she was wearing a seat belt.

A man walking toward the front of the bus was thrown against its windshield on impact. Paramedics treated him on the scene, Pond said.
