Prosecutor wants N.J. teen tried as adult in boy's death

A prosecutor is seeking to have a 15-year-old boy tried as an adult on charges that he raped and murdered a younger boy who vanished while selling wrapping paper and candy door-to-door.

Ocean County Prosecutor E. David Millard filed a motion Tuesday asking that Sam Manzie be tried as an adult. Millard said he would seek the maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.Manzie is charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated sexual assault and robbery in the Sept. 27 death of 11-year-old Eddie Werner. He disappeared while he was selling holiday merchandise for a school fund-raiser.
