Death: Elda Bormann

Elda Olson Crowley Bormann, 86, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in her sleep Wednesday, October 8, 1997 at her home of natural causes.

Born July 7, 1911 in Millville, Utah to Neils Orson Olson and Nina Yeates. Elda grew up on a farm in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the eldest of ten children. She married Byron Crowley in 1931 in the Salt Lake Temple and they were the parents of five sons. Later divorced. Married Robert Owen Bormann in 1955.Elda was active in the LDS Church all her life and held many positions. She was a Relief Society president, MIA president, seminary teacher, gospel doctrine teachers and in her later years, a dedicated ordained temple worker. Elda raised her boys in San Luis Obispo and Ontario, California. Later lived in Honolulu and Kailua, Hawaii, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and St. George and Provo, Utah.

Survived by her husband, Bob Bormann, political activist; four sons, Bryan John Crowley (Kathleen), Fountain Valley, CA; Lionel Paul Crowley (Marie), Provo; Larry Olson Crowley (Diane), Hesperia, CA; Jared Orson Olson Crowley (Sharen), Bountiful. Preceded in death by son, Richard Kent Crowley. Elda is the grandmother of 25 and great-grandmother of 61. Also survived by one brother and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 1997 at 1 p.m. in the Edgemont Stake Center, 303 West 3700 No., Provo. Friends may call Friday, Oct. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 No. 400 East and Sat. from 11-12:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
