A 7-year-old boy was listed in stable condition Friday at Primary Children's Medical Center after he was hit by a car pulling a boat Wednesday night.

James Mark, Kearns, was crossing the street at the intersection of 5400 S. 5600 West about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, said Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy Mike Kimball.The boy, who was using the crosswalk and trailing behind two other children, was thrown about 57 feet after being struck by the trailer's rear wheel, Kimball said. He suffered a broken leg and facial lacerations.

The driver of the car, Robert Miller, 33, was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of driving under the influence and running a red light, Kimball said.
