George S. Davis, 83, returned to his Heavenly Father October 30, 1997.

He was born September 30, 1914 in Duchesne, Utah to Fredrick Joseph and Mary Jane Shelton Davis. Married Eliza Floral Lemon in Salt Lake City, Utah, February 19, 1938; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple October 14, 1985. Worked for Western, Frontier, and Flying Tiger Airlines, and later retired from the Utah State Department of Agriculture. He served in the LDS Church as ward clerk, single adult leader, and with his wife in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He loved life, had a great sense of humor and treasured traveling with his family. He felt his greatest accomplishment in life was his family.He is survived by his wife, Floral; two sons and three daughters, G. Blaine (Annemarie) Davis of Salt Lake; Charlotte (J. Gordon) Summers of Fruit Heights; Barbara (E. Kent) Hinckley of Kaysville; Jeanette (Gary) McCarty of Springville; and Keith (Lori) Davis of Reno, NV; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Chris (Susan) Watts of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Peterson and Ardith Watts, and six brothers, Joseph, Stephen, Arnold, Frank, Max, and Boyd.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at 12 p.m. at the North Star Ward, 1900 West 400 North, SLC. Friends and family may attend a viewing Sunday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, SLC.
