SHARE NAACP officials accept resignation of embattled Lyons

NAACP officials announced Saturday they have accepted the resignation of the Rev. Henry Lyons, embattled Baptist leader, and filed a formal complaint against another board member under pressure to quit.

NAACP chairwoman Myrlie Evers-Williams said Monday she was seeking the resignation of four national board members who have either admitted or been accused of financial misdealings.The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People executive committee on Friday accepted the resignation of Lyons and voted to file an administrative complaint against Hazel Dukes. The committee is still reviewing matters involving the other two, James Ghee and Bobby Bivens.
