Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Lowell Stanley Meik, age 85, passed away November 14, 1997, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born October 6, 1912, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Francis Thomas and Emma T. Ringwood Meik. He married Della Madge Fisher on October 11, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Della preceded him in death on May 31, 1953. He then married Bernice Tuft on August 2, 1962. She preceded him in death on April 17, 1997.Lowell was one of the first resident land owners in Emigration Canyon. Active member of the LDS church. Owned and operated his own construction and landscaping business. Worked for Kennecott Copper Corp. in their mining division for 30 years.
Survived by one son and one daughter, Kevin (Robyn) Meik, Salt Lake; Sharon-Lee (Gerald) Ustach, Maryland; grandchildren, Karen Schultz, Salt Lake City; Karl (Terry) Meik, Salt Lake City; Ronald (Karen) Ustach, Calif.; Vincent (Tracy) Ustach; Maryland, Deborah (Chuck) Knowles, Maryland; Steven (Janene) Ustach, Calif.; Frank Wonnacott, Salt Lake City, Emily Wonnacott, Salt Lake City; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naoma Pugmire and June Phillips, both of Salt Lake. Preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 1997, 1 p.m. at the Olympus 2nd Ward, 3070 East Nila Way (4140 South). Friends may call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
