Beloved father, brother and friend, John Amasa (Jack) Woolf left this life peacefully on November 25, 1997 at the home of his daughter, Christine in Mesa, Arizona, from cancer.

John was born April 9, 1922 in Wells, Nevada, the seventh child of nine children, born to Milton Howe and Iretta France Woolf. He grew up in Salt Lake City where he graduated from South High School with his sweetheart Betty Lou Ence. They were married on February 3, 1943 in San Diego, CA, where he was stationed with the Marines. Their marriage was solemnized the following September in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. To their union were born six children, Kathryn (Dale) Heaps; Christine (Brent) Bird; Marsha (Melvin) Morrow, James Allen (Jody), John Robert (Cindy) and Debra Lee (Phil) Carn. He served in Saipan during World War II, where he was injured and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After the war he became a long haul driver for PIE and Garrett truck lines which he enjoyed very much. In 1960, he was involved in a near fatal car accident which left him unable to work for the remainder of his life. He and Betty were divorced in 1965 and he later married Mae Favorli. They were later divorced.He is survived by his six children; sisters, Alberta Rosenhan and Ruth Madsen; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for the love and concern he showed for all of his family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 1997 at 12 noon at the Olympus 6th Ward 3070 East Nila Way (4140 So.- east off 27th E.) A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the ward. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in John's name be made to LHS Home & Community Care (Hospice) 1325 No. Fiesta Blvd. Suite 1 Gilbert AZ. 85233
