Sandra Joy LM Christensen, spirited warrior, lost the battle on Thanksgiving and passed into immortality.

She was born in 1960 in Paptoetoe, New Zealand. She is survived by her 11-year-old son, Brent; husband, Kevin; mother, Marcia McKean-Coffman; sister, Debra and her husband, Jim Kalz; stepsisters and relatives in New Zealand, and friends too numerous to mention. Sandra will be missed and remembered lovingly for the rest of our lives.

As a fitting tribute, Sandie gave all those who knew her much to be thankful for. She gave 100 percent to her family and friends. Her son will remember her as the brave mother who courageously fought for him and took him to school even when she could barely function. Her husband will remember his childhood sweetheart, her beautiful flute music and her constant thoughtfulness. Her mother and sisters will remember a spunky tomboy full of life ready to take on the world. Her friends will remember her as the IV-toting selfless Managing Director of the Salt Lake Symphony. She was a "people" person who connected and made a multitude of life-long friendships of diverse groups of people.

She inspired everyone who surrounded her and secretly hoped she wouldn't run out of courage. She fought for her son to the end.
