Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Charles Woodrow Carlow, age 81, passed away Nov. 25, 1997, in Salt Lake City.
Charles Woodrow was born Nov. 6, 1916, in Beaver, UT, the son of William Abdella and Eva Olcott Carlow. He married Jenalorn (Lorna) Gillies on Sept. 11, 1934, and was later solemnized in the Logan Temple, Jan. 12, 1963. She preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death, a son, Marvin Carlow and a daughter, Sharon Carlow Vake. He later married Florence LeBaron on Dec. 17, 1991, in Salt Lake City. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1996.Charles was involved in the scouting organization, he was an avid camper and loved the outdoors. He was an active LDS church member and loved to be with his family. He served his country during World War II. Charles worked for many years as a Carpenter. Charles was a kind and loving individual who was respected and admired by all who knew him. His passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives.
Survived by: two daughters and one son, Sue Von (Joseph T.) Butterfield, Salt Lake City; Charles Richard (Cindy) Carlow, Taylorsville; Teddie Lynne (Sione) Uhi, West Valley; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother Don Carlow, Price, UT; two sisters, Jessie Ward, Maurine Sly, both of Beaver, UT. Also survived by stepchildren and step grandchildren, Genie (Winston) Lee, Provo, UT; Gail (Jim) Christensen, Eugene, OR; Neil (Ruth Ann) LeBaron, Salt Lake City, UT, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at 10 a.m., at the Rosecrest Ward, 3101 South 2300 East, with Bishop David L. Neilson officiating. Friends may call Monday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
