The Utah Department of Transportation and its I-15 contractor, Wasatch Constructors, will hold a public meeting Tuesday night to inform nearby residents about the upcoming closure of the 400 South viaduct.

The open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Franklin Elementary School, 400 S. 1100 West.On Monday, Nov. 10, the 400 South bridge will be closed between 300 West and 900 West for nearly three years. It will be demolished and rebuilt as part of the $1.59 billion reconstruction project.

The rebuilt 400 South viaduct will be the only new interchange along the 17-mile project corridor. All commuters will be able to enter northbound I-15 at 400 South, and exit from southbound I-15 at 400 South. High-occupancy vehicles also will be able to enter southbound I-15 at the new interchange, and exit from northbound I-15.

During construction, several streets are being promoted as alternates to 400 South, including North Temple and 1300 South.
