Merle Hill Sturdevant, age 85, died November 2, 1997 in the loving arms of her family.

She was born August 14, 1912 in El Reno, Oklahoma. She moved with her family to Conner Springs, Utah, as a child. She graduated from Magna High School in 1930. She married Albert G. Sturdevant, November 30, 1934 in Ogden, Utah. their life together was filled with love and adventure. She and Albert enjoyed extensive travel in their 55 years together in marriage.Merle was a wonderful mother, a loving wife, and a dedicated friend to many.

Merle graduated from nursing school in Pocatello, Idaho, at the age of 45. She ministered loving care to many aged patients in the 15 years she practiced her profession.

Merle is survived by her sister, Helen Braegger, of Kaysville, UT; brother, Leonard Hill, of Roy, UT; three sons, Steve (Ann), of Salt Lake City; Ray (Sally), Barrington, RI; and Fred, of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Zora Jean, of Anaheim CA; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her brothers, Irvin and Lloyd, and her sister, Myrtle Troeller.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 1997, 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 So. Highland Drive, where friends can call one hour prior to services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
